Bombay High Court Allows Preity Zinta To File Suit

Preity Zinta has moved the Bombay H.C against the alleged misuse of her identity through AI deepfakes and manipulated online content.

The court has granted her permission to file a civil suit against several entities, including digital platforms and websites for sure.

According to her petition, many fake videos, edited images, memes and AI chatbot versions using her name and likeness were allegedly created and shared without her consent.

Preity claims that such content harms her reputation, public image and goodwill. She has also argued that the alleged misuse violates her personality rights and certain protections under copyright law.

Her legal team informed the court that the content was widely accessible online and had reached audiences across different regions. Following the court’s approval the case is expected to proceed through the legal process.
